Preparing for your Photoshoot
A few simple tips so you know what to bring, what to expect on the day, and what happens after.
Getting ready for your newborn session
- Try to keep baby awake for 1.5 to 2 hours before you arrive. A bath or some gentle play helps.
- Feed baby just before you leave, or when you arrive.
- Dress baby in a loose, zip-up onesie that’s easy to take off.
- Nappies and wipes
- A dummy, if baby uses one
- Extra milk or formula
- Any heirlooms or sentimental items you’d like included
- Neutral tones work best. Avoid bold patterns and logos.
- Neutral nails.
- On packages that include family photos, mum can choose a hybrid gown from our client wardrobe.
- The studio is kept warm for baby, so dress in light layers.
- Sessions are baby-led, with time for feeding and settling.
- Accidents happen, and we are prepared!
Getting ready for your maternity session
- Book hair and makeup ahead, and allow up to 3 hours.
- Makeup slightly fuller than everyday photographs beautifully.
- Soft, neutral nails.
- Our gowns are professionally cleaned and steamed after every use.
- Send us screenshots of your favourites at least 3 days before your session.
- You are welcome to bring your own outfits too.
- Partners: coordinated semi-formal or formal outfits in neutral colours, without bold patterns or logos. Outfit changes to match each gown are welcome.
- Little ones: coordinating colours, plus snacks and a favourite toy.
- Bouquets, crowns and hair accessories come from our studio collection.
- Bring anything sentimental: an ultrasound scan photo, baby’s first shoes, toy or clothes.
- Outdoor sessions can be at a local beach, park or another spot you love.
- Golden hour around sunset is popular, but we can plan the timing around the look you want.
- Bring comfortable flats and a light wrap.
- Please arrive on time, and let us know if you’re running more than 10 minutes late.

Selection gallery
Your selection gallery link arrives within 1 to 2 days. Images are watermarked and for viewing only.
Choose your favourites
Mark your favourites in the gallery. These are the images that get edited.
Pick your prints
Label the photos you’d like printed, then let us know you’re done, preferably by text.
Editing
Once your selections are confirmed, we carefully edit each image and deliver your final gallery soon after.
Prints & wall art
Prints are ready to collect with 3 business days’ notice.
Checking in
Want an update? Text us with your gallery email and allow 24 hours for a reply. An unedited gallery is available as an optional extra; ask us for details.
No phone photography in the studio, please, and shoes off at the door.
